These are my current non-profit engagements.
Eva Gunther Foundation
EGF was created to honor and remember Eva, my first-born, dead nearly twenty years now.She is remembered in each of our actions every day.
Alliance for Girls
AFG grew out of the relationships EGF built in the Girls service community. Emma Mayerson is responsible for its success. Read an article I wrote about it here.
Equal Access International
EAI is a truly extraordinary international NGO built by my dear friend and colleague Ronni Goldfarb. I was the Founding Board Chair, a role I held for fourteen years, and now am Chairman Emeritus. For the first two-plus years I was the bookkeeper, too.
Congregation Beth Sholom
What can I say? These are my peeps. The shul was there for us when Eva died, and we are eternally grateful to Judaism for having made it so. I spent fifteen years in leadership, primarily as chair the committee that rebuilt the CBS campus. You can hear me talk about it, with architect Stanley Saitowitz, here.
Presidio Hill School
Presidio Hill is San Francisco’s oldest coeducational progressive school, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2018. It has an Eva Gunther building. I was on the Board for ten years, as treasurer and chair.
